City Tour & Tlaquepaque (4 hours)


Welcome to the  Pearl of the West! The tour includes a panoramic drive through the main avenues of the city; the Minerva Fountain, the Arches, The University of Guadalajara, the Expiatory Church. Upon arrival to the historical center, we will begin the walking tour to include the Cathedral, the Government Palace with Jose Clemente Orozo´s murals, the Liberation Square, Degollado Theatre, Plaza Tapatia and Cabañas Institute. The tour ends in the beautiful  artisan  village of Tlaquepaque.



Tlaquepaque & Tonala tours (4 hours)

Visit the workshops, galleries and shops of these two famous artisan villages. We will begin the tour at Tonala, a village that has been working the clay ever since prehispanic times. The fine artistic sense of the people of Tonala is expressed, not only in the clay artifacts, but also in crafts made of paper mache, tinwork, blown glass, etc. When we arrive to Tlaquepaque we will see beautiful colonial mansions that are now galleries and shops showing the large variety of arts and crafts made in the region.




Tour to Lake Chapala & Ajijic (5 hours)

We will visit the largest lake in Mexico, famous for it´s tropical weather and lush vegetation. Our first stop will be the city of Chapala, favorite retreat for Mexico´s dictator, Porfirio Diaz. We will the drive to the area of San Juan Cosala, known for it´s thermal waters. Our last stop will be the romantic village of Ajijic with many art galleries and lovely shops. The entire area boasts with hundreds of foreign habitants that have chosen this area because of the perfect climate and great atmosphere. Optional lunch in one of the best restaurants in the area.




Tour to Zapopan (4 hours)

The venerated statue of Our Lady of Zapopan has a very special sanctuary. The shrine is an architectural jewel and an adequate home for the “Virgen general”. We will visit the next door Museum of Huichol art, a living culture of the state that uses beads and yarn in the making of their colorful crafts and textiles.


Tour to Tequila (5 hours)

On our way to the city of Tequila, we will stop to admire the fields of Agave Azul Tequilana Weber, recently honored by UNESCO as World Heritage Site. We will continue with a visit to a distillery to see the process of elaboration of Mexico´s National drink. You will learn how to distinguish the different types of tequila. We will include a visit to the main square of the city and the museum of tequila.Optional lunch.



Huachimontones Arqueological Site (5 hours)

For many years, everybody believed that western Mexico did not have monumental or ceremonial prehispanic sites, this was true until they discovered the archeological site known as Huachimontones or Teuchitlan Culture. This marvelous site, with circular pyramids has over 2,000 years of history. Be a witness of the recent findings, along with the archeologists working here in search of traces of the past.
